Who we are
Cindy Nesbit is a seasoned attorney, who brings a wealth of legal experience to her clients. She has worked both internationally and domestically. She spent nearly three years living in The Netherlands, where she earned a masters degree in public international law and worked at the United Nations’ International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
In 2012, she was admitted into the New York Bar and moved to the Northern Mariana Islands, where she worked at the Superior Court and then as an assistant public defender, where she represented clients in both misdemeanor and serious felony cases. Cindy returned to New York in 2018, where she worked as a prisoners’ rights attorney, before transitioning her career to civil rights and ultimately immigration.
Cindy is an experienced asylum attorney and has focused her immigration practice on asylum cases and other forms of humanitarian relief. Throughout her years working as an immigration attorney, Cindy has successfully litigated asylum cases for individuals and families, secured Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for clients, and obtained Special Juvenile Immigration Status (SIJS) for minors.
Cindy is dedicated to helping immigrants get the best results possible and created Nesbit Law to meet the immediate legal needs of asylum-seekers.
